Australia is now falling years behind the rest of the world as far as Same-Sex marriage goes, Australia Government needs to keep this country moving forwards.
Almost day by day country after country are legalises Same-Sex marriages, Australia is the ONLY western country not to at least give Same-sex couples a Civil Union.
Our Government is so centred on pleasing the churches that nothing is getting done about these issues.
The world's first country to grant Same-Sex civil unions was Denmark amazingly back in 1989, 20 years ago that's incredible!!!
The first nation to legalise Same-Sex marriages was The Netherlands back in 2001, back had Same-Sex civil unions since 1998.
Even New Zealand introduced Same-Sex civil unions back in 2004, Australia is so far behind it's a joke!
I don't understand how the Australian Government, can keep blocking steps towards equality & deny Australia from keeping up the rest of the world.
The ACT (Australian Capital Territory) recently tried to legalise Same-Sex civil unions for the forth time, this time the Federal Government resisted pulling the plug on the changes. However they want the laws to be amended to not make it registered with births, deaths and marriages registry, wants all legal meaning removed to make it nothing like a marriage this is just plain out right homophobia from the government.
The Australian Christian Lobby Group, are having a part to play in stopping the Marriage Equality Bill. Which was submitted by the Greens Party, the ONLY Australian Federal Party to stand up for Gay & Lesbians.
The Australian Liberal Party, have always had a very old fashioned view on this issue. Choosing to use God & the Bible "marriage is only between one man & one women to the exclusion of all others"
Well that view is fast becoming a thing of the past, with the world understanding that Same-Sex couples are NO different. And deserve the same rights and respect as everyone else.
But the bible and church groups have been changing bits and pieces to suit current trends, so this is NO different but besides that Civil Unions are meant to be the NON church version for people who can't or don't want to get married.
So thats why I can't understand why the Australian Government wont let us have Civil Unions, let the church keep there word "marriage" JUST GIVE US CIVIL UNIONS

BIGPOND BIGBLOG
Bigpond BigBlog has today removed the words "Gay & Lesbian" from there banned words list.
This is a great outcome, however they still should have never been on that list to start with.
I hope this shows to those people who complained to have to words banned, TO GET THE HELL OVER IT we are all allowed to be who we are.
This outcome is step in the right direction for our rights as HUMANS

BIGPOND BIGBLOG, WHAT A JOKE!!!
Bigpond, Australia's biggest Internet service provider offer to there customers a free blog service to talk about current affairs & events.
This is the BigBlog advert;
"Hi fellow bloggers, we are looking for interesting blogs on today's topics and events which we intend to promote on the BigPond home page. We want to promote more interaction from the wider BigPond community and get more people coming to your blogs. So c'mon, start writing some interesting stuff and we'll promote it for you!"
So from that you would think that ALL of "today's topics and events" would be allowed on Bigpong BigBlog, but we were wrong, very wrong.
I tried to create a BigBlog that's similar to my Blog on blogger.com (which is by far the best blog service on the net)
I wanted a Gay Rights Blog which is a BIG topic that needs to be talked about, not banned from our rights of freedom to express our views.
When I typed in the words Gay & Lesbian a error message came up saying "ERROR the text contains the following naughty words "gay" "lesbian".
Which meant I wasn't able to create my blog, what a joke bigpond!!!!
I immediately made several complaints to Telstra, Bigpond and Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to find out why? and will it be changed?
After whats seemed like dozens of phone calls to Bigpond found out that several customers of Bigpond Bigblog wrote letters in wanting the words "gay & lesbian" banned not allowed to be used on the site, and Bigpond added theses words to "naughty list or banned words list"
I think its a joke! That a few people complaining to have words added to a banned list, without any just reason or purpose. Except to promote and advocate homophobia, and make it even harder for Gay Rights in Australia.
However after making the complaint to Telstra they were extremely surprised and disappointed with Bigpond, and are still trying to find out why? and can it be changed?
It's surprising because Telstra and Bigpond are one of the biggest companies in Australia and are now saying its naughty and wrong to be Gay & Lesbian by banning those words.
If several customers wrote in wanting the words relating to any other race or minority group banned eg: Asian, Indian or any race or minority in Australia, there is no way they would ban theses words because its wrong.
So the same rules should apply to the Gay & Lesbian Community, racism or discriminating against minorities groups is WRONG and Bigpond shouldn't be allowed to advocate homophobia.
So I will keep bugging Bigpond till the words Gay & Lesbian are removed from that banned list and they make a public apologue to the Gay & Lesbian Community.
There are also a number of words that Bigpond don't ban, its very interesting I wont make them public just yet, because these words are not only suggesting illegal behaviour but extremely ugly.

103 Oz Gay Rights "It's a Matter of Human Rights"
An Australian Human Rights Commission is about to be set up, hopefully to ensure that the Government & other members of certain groups don't portray Gay & Lesbians in hurtful ways in the community.
Every chance they get we hear "Gay marriage is wrong, being gay is a sin."
Well that's all fair enough for a bunch of 18Th century half Witt's that still run around saying everything that is different is WRONG!!
We are far from the horrible days when the church controlled the world. THANK GOD IS ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THAT
This has gotten to a point now where something has to be done, we are finished pushing this issue to the back of our minds along with our Human Rights.
Human rights, something that EVERY HUMAN deserves NO matter what race, colour, gender, sexual orientation WE ARE ALL HUMAN
We don't choose, change or control our sexuality, its a part of who we are.
Heterosexuals don't one day decide to be that way, same for Gay & Lesbians WE DON'T HAVE ANY SAY IN IT.
The people opposed to Gay marriage have said well if we allow this then whats next down the track legalising incest or bestiality.
To those people I agree with the fact that there are extremely ugly parts of our society there always has been, Incest, rape, child abuse these things have nothing to do with the subject of Same-sex marriage. Do these people even have brains, so does that mean that ONLY Gay or Lesbians are the ones responsible for ALL the rapes in the world, ALL the child abuse???? You only have to open your eyes, read a news paper, watch the news to know that's not true.
Heterosexuals overall commit around 90% of the rapes, incest & child abuse to blame it all on Gay & Lesbians is the most ignorant, homophobic thing I have ever heard.
Two ADULTS consenting Adults of the same-sex who love each other and want to spend the rest of there lives with other, I don't see how that leads people to think that the next step is allowing people to rape or incest & child abuse???
TWO CONSENTING ADULTS OF THE SAME SEX, CAN IN NO WAY BE MIXED UP WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE!!!!!!
And do you think the general public out there want to listen to ALL those IGNORANT, HOMOPHOBIC comments THANK GOD that most of the general public are smart enough not to believe all the CRAP they try and spin to make people HATE Gay & Lesbians.
Would it really be so bad, if Gay & Lesbians were excepted into society without FEAR?
The fear in some cases is coming from the belief, that if the Government allows Same-Sex marriage to be legalised that people are going to be somehow influenced by this.
Because it would normalise homosexuality in society for future generations Fear that homosexuality would seem like a viable and acceptable "option" or "choice".
Which is completely rubbish, its not a choice we are who we are ALL HUMAN OUR LOVE IS ALL THE SAME
A heterosexual couple are walking down the road holding hands, NO one cares or thinks anything of it.
Now A homosexual couple is walking down the road holding hands, Not only do people care but some people think this is so wrong that in certain situations Gay & lesbians have been bashed and killed!!!!
How can that be justified??????????????????????????????
All you church freaks out there that say Being Gay is against God, well I don't think God would want them to die for it.
Did you know that convicted criminal eg. murderer or rapist, can get married by law and by the church even when still serving there sentence????
Under the church ideals that they are more fit to be married and parents than Same-Sex couples, they have also gone on to say that Murderers and Rapists make better parents, guardians and role models than Same-Sex couples.
They also say, because murderers and rapists are fit parents in a way that a law-abiding gay couple never could be.
That makes me feel sick knowing that people think that, a murderer or rapist a better parent than a law-abiding Same-Sex couple!!!! Are they for real??????
This has got to stop, Human Rights are being affected now, Gay & Lesbians don't get the same treatment in society and that's WRONG and MUST STOP

102 Oz Gay Rights "We Will Win Our Rights"
The states & territories in Australia, don't all have the same view when it comes to Gay marriage & civil unions.
The ACT Government for years have been trying to change there legislation to allow Same-sex couple the rights to civil unions, however the Federal Government blocks them at every turn.
The latest news from Canberra yesterday, seen the ACT Government modify there same-sex civil union act only days after it was passed which strips it of most legal meaning.
This modification to the Same-Sex Civil Union Act was after the Federal Government and Australian Christian Lobby group put pressure on the ACT Government to modify the Act.
The Marriage Equality Bill tabled by The Green, has failed to result in any good news, with the Senate report deciding to keep the current ban on Same-sex marriage & Civil Unions.
However the report failed to see, that the majority of Australian want this discrimination to stop. People from all walks of life have shown there support for Same-sex marriage, which just shows how the people of Australia are ready for this change.
The Federal Labour Party tricked the Gay & Lesbian Community before the last Federal Election, by promising they would change the laws to stop the discrimination of Same-Sex couples once elected but now refuse to act on the issue.
But still the Federal Government wont give up there fight to keep, "the institution of marriage between a man and a women". Which is something the Liberal Party (Mr Howard) did rewriting the Marriage Act to exclude ALL OTHERS and fit there narrow minded way of thinking.
They have used hurtful and distasteful comments towards the Gay & Lesbian community to make the public think Same-sex marriage is wrong. I mean this is unbelievable our own Government and other elected officials, can get up there and say whatever nasty comments they like about how wrong Gays & lesbians are.
All this is doing is holding back the growth of our nation, making the Gay & Lesbian Community feel like 2ND class citizens.
This has been going on for hundreds of years enough is enough, why can't the people of this country have a Government that they know; respects them, cares about them but we don't.
Family First senator Steve Fielding has compared same-sex marriage to incest, (Saying if your a guy you can't marry your brother cause it's wrong, so you can't marry another guy either cause its wrong)
I mean is it just me, or does that not make any sense at all?
I don't see how allowing Same-Sex marriage will lead to legalising incest. This just proves that the Senator, the Government and others that believe these things, have know idea what they are talking about and they shouldn't be allowed to make hurtful comments like that.
I have know idea how these people get these ideas so because someone is Gay or Lesbian that means they want to marry there brother or sister????? Don't understand the logic behind that comment.
I can't understand why in the 21st century people can make comments like that,
Others have compared Same-sex marriage with bestiality (sex with animals), this is just as ignorant, bigoted, intolerant and homophobic.
All they do is keep these hundred year old views of the world alive, and stop us from getting on with life without them worrying that two blokes or two women want to get married and love each other for the rest of there lives, how can that be so wrong??????????????????????????????
